Mount Kenya, 5199 msl tall, is Africa's second tallest Mountain after Mount Kilimanjaro. Many tourists prefer Mount Kenya because of its wilderness, abundant wildlife, and stunning mountain lakes. As you climb in height, the flora varies from the lowland savannah and bamboo forests. The distinctive high-altitude equatorial habitat can be found here. Strange plants and a misty environment make the landscape appear like another world. Height and time of day greatly impact the temperature of Mt Kenya. Evening frosts are likely at 3000 m, while daytime temperatures vary from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius. On the peak, the nighttime temperature is well below zero.
