The trip explores the famous Volcanoes National Park, home to mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. The park, which borders Congo and Uganda, has a 4,507m-tall Mt. Karisimbi and four smaller wooded volcanoes. But first, we'll take the adventure spirit to Kigali, the country's expansive metropolis with a thriving restaurant and nightlife scene.
Later, the thrill will be tested on a gorilla trekking Ruanda expedition through the jungles of the Virunga Mountains.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kigali Ruhengeri

When you arrive in Kigali, Rwanda, you will be greeted by a company representative. Learn more about Kigali by taking a city tour that includes a stop at the Genocide Memorial Museum. We will transport you north later to commence on Gorillas in the Mist adventure, passing through magnificent rolling hills towards Volcanoes National Park, where the forested slopes of the Virungas offer a dramatic background for the most poignant and memorable animal experience of a lifetime. Later, we will travel to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

After breakfast at the lodge, your safari guide will transport you to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters, where you will meet your gorilla trekking guides and fellow trekkers. During your briefing sessions, you will be allocated to a group of up to eight people to travel with. Return to the lodge for lunch after the walk. The remainder of the day is free. An excursion to the volcanic lakes is an option (if time allows).

Day 3: Departure

Breakfast and another look at the gorgeous scenery as we return to Kigali in time for lunch. Depending on the time of your foreign flight, you will be dropped off at Kigali Foreign Airport.
