Cape Town is a bustling, diversified metropolis on South Africa's southwest coast. It is the country's legislative capital and one of its most iconic and popular tourist locations.

The city was founded in the 17th century as a strategic outpost for the Dutch East India Company. Today, Cape Town has a variety of architectural styles that reflect its colonial past.

Table Mountain, a flat-topped mountain that dominates the city's skyline, is among Cape Town's most recognizable features. Visitors can ride a cable car or trek to the top for panoramic views of the area. The city's coastline offers excellent beaches, including the well-known Clifton and Camps Bay beaches.

The Mediterranean climate of Cape Town, with moderate, wet winters and pleasant, dry summers, makes it an appealing vacation all year. The city's natural beauty, rich history, and warm friendliness combine to create a one-of-a-kind and compelling experience for both locals and visitors.

Day 2 Half-day city tour and Table Mountains

After an early breakfast, your guide will provide a quick overview of the journey. After that, you'll embark on a city tour of Cape Town, where you'll see the Cape Town City Hall, a stunning tower with a fantastic façade. Nearby lies the Grand Parade, a famous open plaza where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation after his release from jail in 1990. In addition, your guide will take you to a local township to help you better appreciate Cape Town's different people and customs.

Take a cable car ride to the top of the mountain and be prepared to be amazed by breathtaking panoramic views of the city, the Atlantic Ocean, and surrounding landscapes. Take in the diverse flora and fauna that call Table Mountain home as you meander along the approved routes. Discover the fascinating "fynbos" vegetation, unique to the Cape region and found nowhere else on the planet. Look for native birds and tiny creatures that live in this natural sanctuary. Return for an overnight at your hotel.

After an early breakfast, you'll meet with your guide for a morning briefing. You will then visit the marine eco park. Following check-in, you will be given a recap of the day's activities and essential safety tips for an eco-friendly and responsible trip. Watch for the lovely aquatic species as we travel deeper into the ocean. South Africa's coast has marine life, including playful dolphins and majestic whales. You might witness bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, humpback whales, or magnificent orcas, depending on the season. While looking for marine mammals, watch for various aquatic birds in the skies; for those who want a close encounter with marine life, an optional snorkeling adventure awaits you at your own cost.

Return to the waterfront for lunch before boarding a ferry from the specified departure point in Cape Town. Enjoy great views of the city skyline and the beautiful Table Mountain as you sail across Table Bay. When you arrive, you will be greeted by an expert guide who will give you an overview of the island's history and role as a political prison under apartheid. The trip's highlight is a guided visit inside the prison walls of the Robben Island Maximum Security Prison.
