The ability to track mountain gorillas in their native habitat is the true attraction of Mountain Gorilla Sanctuary. Bwindi is home to half the world's mountain gorilla population, and you can visit numerous habituated gorilla groups.
Gorilla tracking is a unique experience that you will never forget. These magnificent creatures are gentle giants, and witnessing them in their natural habitat is a privilege.

Itinerary

Day 1: Full-Day Drive

Meet at Entebbe Airport upon arrival or at Kampala. Drive through Kampala or the back route through Mpigi. Exit through the misty areas of Lake Victoria and the Mpigi woodlands. Finally, make it to the Uganda Equator for a quick photo stop and stretch. Drive on decent roads past cattle-keeping communities grazing their Ankole cattle before arriving at Lake Mburo. Along the main route near the National Park, there are numerous opportunities to see Zebras and Impalas. Later, arriving in Mbarara in the early evening, proceed to Emburara Lodge for dinner and stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Excursion

After an early breakfast, drive through the magnificent mountain beauty of Kigezi, stopping to gaze at the agricultural gardens on top of the mountains. Alternatively, drive via the Queen Elizabeth Ishasha grasslands and the Maramagambo. Along the road, chimp and other forest primate populations can be seen. Travel through the Karinzu rain forests to the Mountain Gorilla Sanctuary at Bwindi. The approximately four-hour excursion concludes with the arrival for lunch.


The afternoon could then be spent on a village tour of the Batwa communities to learn about their culture. You could also go on guided treks to see the peculiar birds of Bwindi. Blue flycatcher, snowy-headed robin chat, black sawing, and Mackinon's shrike are among them. Voices of black and white colobus and Chimpanzees can be heard throughout the Impenetrable Forest. Drinks, dinner, and a night's stay at The Mahogany Springs Lodge or a comparable Meal Plan.

Day 3: Gorilla-Watching Safari

Early morning breakfast, then start with the ranger guide and gorilla trackers. Our gorillas in the mist tour begin with a briefing by wildlife authority guides at the park offices. Trekking the gorillas is done in groups of eight individuals, and the slowest person's pace determines the length of the walk. The gorilla trackers eventually locate the gorillas and report their location to the guides, who will discover the shortest route to the gorilla group.

Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi canoeing

After breakfast, Drive through the Bwindi forests of Ruhija. Meanwhile, forest antelopes, blue monkeys, and rivers draw Kingfishers and other uncommon forest bird species. We leave the gorilla highlands and travel to Lake Bunyonyi Mountain Tarn, where we will have lunch at the Lodge. You then sail to Punishment Island on Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon, where pregnant, unmarried girls were abandoned. Before dinner and stay at the bird's nest at Lake Bunyonyi Lodge, take a leisurely boat ride and possibly witness some cray fishing.

Day 5: Departure

After Morning breakfast, proceed with a transfer to the Entebbe airport for the departure flight.
