The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is well-known for hosting the annual migration of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and elands. It is located in the Mara Region's east and Simiyu Region's northeast. The national park also has Africa's most significant lion population. The name "Serengeti" is derived from the Maasai term siringet, which means "the place where the land runs on forever."
