6- Day Namibian Culture and Scenery Tour

After arrival you will be met by Divulge Adventure representative ready to Explore thwe Namibian culture and Scenery, the stunning landscapes of Damaraland and Kaokoland, renowned for their dramatic scenery and unique Namibian Culture and Scenery

Track desert-adapted wildlife, including elephants and other iconic species, in their natural habitats. Discover how local communities and wildlife successfully coexist within unfenced, open ecosystems.

Visit remote and less-traveled regions, offering an authentic and immersive travel experience. Enjoy spectacular desert landscapes, rugged mountains, ancient rock formations, and breathtaking sunsets.

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Erongo Mountains. After lunch, you will visit a living museum to experience the Namibian Culture and Scenery, learn about the San/Bushman people who were the earliest inhabitants of Southern Africa.

They represent about 2.9 % of the Namibian population. The San residents of the Living Museum will introduce you to their customs and culture. Learn about hunting, snaring, tracking, lighting a fire and collecting bush food.

The highlight is some rock paintings over 2000 years old found in this area, that were done by their ancestors and best interpretated by the San (Bushman) local guide. After making some ropes and jewellery, the tour ends with Bushman singing and dancing.

After breakfast, we will make our way to Damaraland. You will visit the Damara Living Museum. The Damara people represent 8.5% of the Namibian population.

The Living Museum of the Damara is an attempt to reconstruct the ‚lost culture’ of the Damara. Here the visitors have the unique opportunity to get to know the fascinating traditional culture of the Damara, thus contributing to the preservation of the culture.

After breakfast, you will embark on the Desert Adapted Elephant tracking. It is not uncommon to find a herd of elephants and a man herding livestock next to each other.

Here, wildlife and humans compete for scarce resources like water in this rather arid area. Let us learn how they coexist. Damaraland is one of the true last remaining wildernesses in Africa.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Bushman Rock engravings at Twyfelfontein. This area consists of over 40 000 rock engravings done by the San people 2000 years ago, although they do not live there now.

Our drive today goes past a couple of villages and concessions with chances of encountering wildlife. Because of the harshness of the area, these animals do not occur in huge numbers and not very easily spotted. You will visit the fascinating OvaHimba people upon arrival in Kaokoland.

Our destination is the start of the Kaokoland area which extends all the way north covering an extensive territory of 50 000 square kilometers. Let us learn the OvaHimba fascinating culture and way of life.

They are semi-nomadic pastoralists with huge herds of cattle. This afternoon you will learn about the intriguing traditional life of the OvaHimba people, including their dress, food and craft.

You will also learn about how the homestead is built, with holy fire at its heart (where all communication with ancestors takes place). Your private tour guide will take you for a sundowner drive around this area.

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you back to Windhoek. The marks the end of your Namibian Culture and Scenery tour.
