Divulge Adventures Ltd
Privacy Policy
Guarantee of Confidentiality
Divulge Adventures Ltd is deeply committed to ensuring your online privacy and providing you with a secure browsing experience. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your data when you visit our website, contact us, or book a safari with us across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Botswana, and Namibia. We may update this policy from time to time, so we encourage you to review this page periodically.
Information We Collect
Information you give us directly, when you fill out a quote request, message us on WhatsApp, email us, or book a trip:
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Travel details such as preferred dates, destinations, group size, and children's ages (collected solely to plan age-appropriate accommodation and activities)
- Booking and payment details when you reserve a trip through our website, processed via WP Travel Engine and our secured payment gateway
Information collected automatically:
- Standard site usage data (pages visited, device/browser type) via Google Analytics
- Cookies used for site functionality, login sessions, and comment forms (detailed below)
- Data collected through the Meta Pixel installed on our website, and through Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Lead Ads when you interact with our advertising campaigns
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to prepare accurate travel quotations, send brochures, process and manage your booking, and communicate trip details before and during travel. Where you've opted in, we may also send you relevant safari offers and promotions — always facilitated directly by Divulge Adventures Ltd and always with a clear opt-out available on our contact forms and in every marketing message.
We promise never to sell your personal information, and we never share it with third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
Operational Privacy
To arrange your trip, we disclose only your name and the specific booking details necessary to our trusted local suppliers and ground operators in the destination country — for example, camps, lodges, and driver-guides who need your itinerary to serve you. We do not share your data with these partners for their own marketing use.
Sharing With Service Providers
We work with a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, strictly to help us run the business:
- WP Travel Engine, which manages our website's trip listings and booking system
- Google Analytics, for anonymized website traffic insights
- Meta Platforms, Inc., via the Meta Pixel and Lead Ads on our site and in our ad campaigns — Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy in addition to ours
- Our payment processor, to securely handle deposits and trip payments
- WhatsApp Business, for direct trip planning conversations
We disclose personal data to authorities only where required by law.
Security Standards
Our website uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to protect data in transit, backed by firewall security designed to prevent unauthorized access to our internal systems. Payments are processed through a secured payment gateway.
Cookie Usage
We use cookies to understand how visitors interact with our site and to improve functionality — this data is anonymized and not used to personally identify you. Specifically:
- Comments: if you leave a comment, you may opt in to save your name, email, and website in a cookie for one year, so you don't need to re-enter these on your next comment.
- Login: a temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies when you visit our login page; it holds no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. If you log in, session cookies persist for two days (two weeks if you select "Remember Me"), and display-preference cookies last a year. These are removed when you log out.
- Editing: if you edit or publish a post, a cookie storing only the post ID is set for one day.
You can disable cookies at any time through your browser settings, though some site features may not work as intended.
Website Monitoring
We use Google Analytics to track session and page-interaction data. This recognizes your IP address only for the date of your visit and is not merged with personally identifiable information. We may use these insights, together with Meta Pixel data, for tailored marketing — always in line with this policy and with Google's and Meta's own privacy standards.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary: for the duration of your inquiry or booking process, for the length of any active trip and a reasonable period after for support purposes, and as required by Kenyan tax and accounting law. Inquiry data that does not convert into a booking is retained only for a reasonable follow-up period before deletion.
Your Rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Kenyan residents may exercise these rights under the Data Protection Act, 2019. Visitors from the UK or EU interacting with our advertising campaigns may have equivalent rights under UK/EU GDPR.
Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults arranging travel, including for family members. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children; group size and children's ages are collected from the booking adult solely for trip planning purposes.
Embedded Content and External Links
Our website may link to external sites, including our social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, TripAdvisor, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, and X) for your convenience. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites, which operate under their own independent policies.
