7 Days Kalahari Expeditions

Arrival in Maun, followed by a safari briefing before departing for Nxai Pan National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive through Botswana’s wilderness while spotting wildlife such as zebras, elephants, ostriches, springboks, and antelopes along the route. Upon arrival, settle into the campsite and enjoy dinner while experiencing your first night under the African sky.

After breakfast, travel to the iconic Baines Baobabs, a group of ancient baobab trees made famous by explorer Thomas Baines. Explore the surrounding salt pans and enjoy breathtaking views of one of Botswana’s most unique landscapes. Guests will have time for photography, nature walks, and learning about the geological history of the region before settling at camp for dinner.

Arrive in the reserve and enjoy an evening game drive while searching for desert-adapted species including gemsbok, wildebeests, cheetahs, and brown hyenas.

Continue exploring the remote desert landscapes while driving through parts of the greater Makgadikgadi Pans ecosystem toward deeper sections of the reserve. Along the way, observe desert vegetation, ancient dry riverbeds, and wildlife adapted to extreme climatic conditions. Arrive at camp, enjoy a traditional bush dinner, and experience storytelling around the campfire in the heart of the desert.

Spend the day discovering the untouched beauty of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve through guided game drives and nature walks. Search for famous black-maned Kalahari lions, meerkats, giraffes, antelope species, foxes, and rare birdlife. Learn about desert survival techniques and, where available, experience cultural interaction with the indigenous San People, known for their traditional tracking skills and deep connection to the land.

Enjoy an early morning breakfast before beginning the return journey to Maun. Take in the final views of the vast Kalahari landscapes and make brief stops for wildlife viewing and photography along the route. Arrive in Maun in the afternoon, marking the end of an unforgettable Kalahari Expedition filled with adventure, wildlife encounters, cultural discovery, and authentic African wilderness experiences.
