Day by Day
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a professional driver-guide who will brief you about your safari. You will then be transferred to your hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala, a journey that takes approximately 10 to 60 minutes depending on the location.
Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to relax and recover from your journey or enjoy an optional evening city experience. Later, you will have a welcome dinner featuring a selection of both local and international cuisine as you settle into the Pearl of Africa. Overnight stay will be at Hilton Gardens Hotel.
Following an early breakfast, you will start your primate and wildlife safari with a transfer to the park headquarters in Kibale National Park for a detailed briefing by experienced ranger guides. You will then head into the dense tropical rainforest in search of chimpanzees, guided by trackers who are familiar with their movements. The trek can vary in duration, but once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing their behavior, including feeding, grooming, and social interactions.
After the trek, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature and cultural walk. This community-run initiative offers opportunities to spot monkeys, birds, and other wetland wildlife while also experiencing local traditions such as coffee preparation, banana brewing, basket weaving, and learning about herbal medicine. You will later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Turaco TreeTops Lodge.

After breakfast, you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park for the primate and wildlife safari a journey of approximately two to three hours. The drive takes you through scenic crater lake regions and offers more stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is famous for its high concentration of wildlife. During the cruise, you can expect to see elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species along the shores.
After the cruise, you will return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation at Ihamba Safari Lodge
You will start the day early with breakfast before heading out for primate and wildlife safari ,morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park when wildlife is most active. As you explore the savannah plains, you may encounter lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hyenas, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. The game drive typically lasts three to four hours, after which you will return to the lodge, check out, and begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
This drive takes approximately four to five hours and passes through beautiful rolling hills and terraced landscapes. You will arrive at your lodge in the evening, where you can relax and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. Dinner and overnight at your lodge at The Haven Lodge Buhoma.
After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a comprehensive briefing on the primate and wildlife safari before beginning your gorilla trek. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will hike through the dense forest in search of a habituated gorilla family, a journey that can take between two to six hours depending on their location.
Once the gorillas are found, you will spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, groom, and interact within their group. After this extraordinary experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa People to learn about their traditional forest lifestyle through storytelling, music, dance, and demonstrations of ancient survival skills. After breakfast, you will begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, which takes approximately eight to nine hours. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Uganda Equator Line where you can take memorable photos while standing in both hemispheres, shop for souvenirs, and enjoy lunch
. You will then proceed to your final destination, either your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable primate and widlife safari through Uganda’s rich landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage.
