14 Day Southern Kenya Birding Safari

14 Days

This southern Kenya birding safari links Kilimanjaro’s elephants, the Taita Hills endemics and the coastal forests in one two-week route.

This southern Kenya birding safari follows the road from Nairobi to the Indian Ocean and back, visiting some of the most interesting birding sites in the country. It combines classic game parks with rare forest birds and coastal waders.

Highlights include the critically endangered Taita thrush and Taita white-eye, the Sokoke scops owl in Arabuko-Sokoke and crab plovers at Mida Creek.

Why choose this southern Kenya birding safari?

  • Amboseli: elephants below Kilimanjaro and swamp birds.
  • Tsavo West: dry-country birds around Kilaguni.
  • Taita Hills: Taita thrush, Taita white-eye and Taita apalis.
  • Arabuko-Sokoke and Mida Creek: Clarke’s weaver, Amani sunbird and crab plovers.
